1st March 2018 : D.R.A. Computing turns 35 !

Today marks our 35th Birthday, it was exactly 35 years ago, today, that D.R.A. Computing was brought to life with two software packages under it's belt: Dental Manager for DOS and Service Manager for DOS.

2nd October 2017 : D.R.A. Computing adopts Microsoft SQL Server 2017

D.R.A. Computing adopts Microsoft SQL Server 2017 as its preferred database platform, after today Microsoft announced its release (RTM).

1th September 2015 : D.R.A. adopts Microsoft Azure

D.R.A Computing adopts the Microsoft Azure Cloud as its standard development platform for web-based solutions.

2014 : D.R.A. Computing adopts Microsoft SQL Server 2014

D.R.A. Computing adopts Microsoft SQL Server 2014 as its preferred database platform, after today Microsoft announced its release (RTM).

12th April 2010 : D.R.A. adopts Microsoft .NET Framework 4.0

D.R.A Computing adopts the Microsoft .NET Framework 4.0 as its standard development platform for desktop and web-based solutions.

6th August 2008 : D.R.A. Computing adopts Microsoft SQL Server 2008

D.R.A. Computing adopts Microsoft SQL Server 2008 as its preferred database platform, after today Microsoft announced its release (RTM).

1st March 2008 : D.R.A. Computing turns 25 !

Today marks our 25th Birthday!

9th November 2007 : D.R.A. implements C# 3.0 and VB.NET 9.0

Included in the major upgrade to the Microsoft .NET Framework v3.5; D.R.A implements C# ("C Sharpe") and VB.NET 9.0 ("Visual Basic .NET") as part of it standard development platform.

6th November 2006 : D.R.A. adopts Windows Communication Foundation

Included in the major upgrade to the Microsoft .NET Framework v3.0; D.R.A adopts the WCF, Windows Communication Foundation, as part of it standard development platform. Along with the WCF D.R.A. also adopts the Windows Presentation Foundation, Windows Workflow Foundation and Windows CardSpace.

3rd April 2003 : D.R.A. adopts Microsoft .NET Compact Framework

Included in the major upgrade to the Microsoft .NET Framework v1.1; D.R.A adopts the Microsoft .Net Compact Framework as its standard development platform for mobile and portable device applications.

1st May 2002 : D.R.A. adopts Microsoft .NET Framework for Development

D.R.A. adopts the Microsoft .NET platform as its standard development platform focusing on web based applications with Microsoft SQL or Microsoft FoxPro as the backend database.

21st August 1999 : D.R.A. adopts Microsoft SQL

D.R.A. adopts Microsoft SQL as its preferred database platform

23rd May 1997 : D.R.A. embraces the Internet

D.R.A. embraces the Internet and builds our first web site

9th August 1995 : D.R.A. adopts Microsoft Foxbase

D.R.A. adopts Microsoft Foxbase for Windows as its standard development platform

1st January 1990 : D.R.A. changes focus

D.R.A. changes focus to service the emerging project management market

11th May 1988 : Insurance Manager released

This package allows jewelers to keep track of insurance quotes, claims, invoices etc.

14th February 1986 : Mail Manager released

Originally developed as part of the Council Manager product this standalone package allows for the tracking of incoming mail and responses

7th August 1985 : D.R.A. adopts Clipper

D.R.A. adopts the dBase compiler "Clipper" as its standard development platform and re-releases all existing packages utilising Clipper to provide a 10 fold performance increase.

3rd June 1985 : Council Manager released

Originally developed for the East Torrens District Council this package allows for the tracking of building applications and approvals

20th June 1983 : Ledger Manager released

The Ledger Manager package for small business was released today This is a simple ledger that tracks income & expenditure

29th April 1983 : Multi-user Grant Manager released

The Grant Manager package for Universities was released today This is a multi-user program - we believe a first for South Australia on the PC platform

30th March 1983 : First South Australian PC based local area network

Today D.R.A. Computing completed the installation at the University of Adelaide of what is believed to be the first PC based local area network in South Australia.

1st March 1983 : D.R.A. Computing is formed

This date marks the formal beginning of D.R.A. Computing with the Dental Manager and Service Manager software packages as our "founding" suite of software.
